"SOLE E LUNA" DOC FEST in Palermo. Mediterranean and Islamic International Documentary Festival. S. Maria dello Spasimo, Palermo. 20 July | 27 July 2007.

INTRODUCTION
"Sole e Luna" Doc Fest in Palermo. Mediterranean and Islamic International Documentary Festival, presents and rewards the world's most beautiful films and documentaries about the Mediterranean sea and Islam produced since 2003

    The festival  has two award categories:
ISLAM This section includes the most important international productions dealing with Islam     produced in the last six years. Documentaries, tv series, surveys, documentaries on scientific,     ethnographic and socio-cultural  researches about customs and traditions of any country/area in     the world are accepted, with a focus on Muslim countries.
MEDITERRANEAN This section includes the most important international production in the last     six years dealing with the sea and the Mediterranean coast: fauna, flora, and sea ecosystems.     Stories of sea voyages, journeys to the Mediterranean countries, their customs, traditions,     culture and civilization of coastal populations. Surveys, reportages, studies dealing with the     Mediterranean Sea and landscape of the coast, in its whole and broader environment.


ALL ENTRY FILMS MUST HAVE BEEN  PRODUCED AFTER 2003.

The Festival, headed by Carlo Fuscagni is promoted by DOC FEST, which is a non-profit cultural association. Rubino Rubini is the artistic director. The executive director is Lucia Gotti Venturato, who has conceived this Festival.

A committee will slect and admit in competition the received films.

RULES
Only films and videos produced between 2003 and 2008 dealing with one of the aforementioned themes may be accepted for "Sole e Luna" Doc Fest in Palermo. All languages are accepted but non-Italian productions must either be subtitled or dubbed in Italian or in English. Competition entries must be submitted by the 15th of March 2008 and must include: an e-mail copy of the fully filled-in entry form




By the 15th March participants are also required to send to our address: "Sole e Luna" Doc Fest c/o Doc Fest Via Tarvisio, 2 - 00198 Roma (Italia).

the materials listed below: - A copy of the film:

(STANDARD PAL) Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, DVD o DVCAM;
A printed copy of the entry form, filled in the details with an ORIGINAL SIGNATURE of who owns the right, indicating that the contest applicant has read and fully accepts the competition rules.


Participants are requested to indicate in the entry form which of the two award category they would like their film to be considered.

However, it is up to the preliminary selection committee to decide for which award category(s) the entry might qualify. By entering the Festival each individual filmmaker or producer is responsible for the content of his work and warrants that the grant of this licence will not infringe the copyright (sound or picture) or any other rights whatsoever of any third party. By applying the Festival the participants explicitly allows the use sound and picture materials. DOC FEST may also show short clips or images from the submitted entries on television news, television broadcasts and in all kind of promotion and communications related to the Festival. Copyright's owners also authorize further showings of their works without any charge for non-profit purposes in Italy and abroad inside of reviews organized by "Sole e Luna" Doc Fest.

A fully completed copy of the entry form, in addition to the one sent with the film, must be sent by
e-mail to info@soleelunadocfest.com

The undersigned states that all information submitted in the entry form is true and agrees that any and all such information may be used in the Festival's promotion and communication materials (catalogue, Internet site, press releases, etc.), should the entrant be selected. Entrants will also be required to submit two photos from the film submitted.

Both the admitted and the non-admitted titles will not be returned to the film senders, as they will remain for good in the archive of the Festival for documentary purposes. They will not be used for commercial purposes and could be seen within the archive for free or for cultural and non-profit purposes manifestations in Italy and abroad.

Signing in the competition entry form implies full acceptance of all the terms and conditions.

In case of controversy, the Court of Rome will have jurisdiction. Should there be any interpretation problems of terms and conditions, the Italian version will be considered final.

Personal information will be dealt according to the terms of Law no. 675 of 31/12/1996 and following changes and additions.
